More Doing = More Learning

don’t ask why you are doing something. . . just do it and look for the signs as you go

At the beginning of this project, one of my classmates asked our instructor if they "had to make all the screens."  It might have been more like they asked, "How many screens do I have to make?"  Since I've been designing stuff and teaching people to design stuff for a long time, I always get a little laugh from this question.  The instructor, John, gave the ambiguously amazing answer all design teachers give when he said, "As many as you need to show the product."  For me, this resulted in more smug laughter.

But in the end, your smugness will bite you in the butt and/or teach you an amazing lesson along the way.  At the final count, I made 137 screens for this app.  It's not every single one, but it was a lot of them.  I almost didn't finish the project in time.  My 46-year-old self was cursing a lot during that all-nighter it took to put together my case study to be ready for the presentation.  It was my punishment for thinking I was anything in that room other than a student. . . BUT, as always, I learned so much about this app from diving into making so many screens.  I also learned a lot about designing screens from designing so many screens.  So, here are a lot of them; they are in no particular order.  Coming soon, a clickable prototype that seems like it's a real app because it has SO MANY SCREENS.
